We recently received the above letter from IOPTS (International Organization for Patent & TradeMark Service, LLC). The letter is intended to create the impression that a filing fee or some trade mark related fee is outstanding.We did some digging around and found a WIPO web page that warns of similar scams. We would like to know what the IP community (WIPO and other IP offices around the world) is doing to prevent such scams or what action is taken once a fraud is identified?
