CTM v Domain Names

We advise owners of Community Trade Marks to register their marks as domain names in each ccTLD within the European Union. This will go some way in reducing the trade mark owner's exposure to cybersquatting, which in turn reduces the costs of domain name recovery. A domain name registration is an extension of a trade mark and two should co-exist to offer the maximum amount of protection.

Lexsynergy provides training to IP professionals and trade mark owners on how to best deal with domain names as part of a comprehensive brand protection strategy.
