On 1 August 2014 the ZA Central Registry (ZACR) officially replaced Internet Solutions as the org.za and net.za registry operator.
On 4 August 2014 at 08h00 (UTC+2) ZACR re-launched org.za and net.za commencing with Sunrise and Landrush applications, which will run concurrently for both extensions. The registry has implemented registration restrictions intended to maximize access for South African businesses, organizations and individuals.
The Sunrise and Landrush periods will both close 1 September 2014 at 23h59 (UTC+2).
General availability for both will commence 2 September 2014 at 08h00 (UTC+2).
Trade mark owners should take advantage of the Sunrise phase (priority phase reserved for trade mark owner with validated trade mark rights) by registering their core trade marks as org.za.
